McEntire Joint National Guard Base, commonly referred to as McEntire JNGB, is a military installation located in Richland County, South Carolina, United States, 10 miles west of the town of Eastover and approximately 15 miles southeast of the city of Columbia and is about 2,400 acres. It now serves as a joint base, meaning it supports operations for multiple branches of the U.S. military, primarily the South Carolina Air National Guard and the South Carolina Army National Guard.

The base has a history dating back to its establishment during World War II. Formed in 1946, the South Carolina Air National Guard consists today of more than 1,500 Airmen who work and drill at McEntire Joint National Guard Base. The base previously was known as Congaree Air Base and was used in World War II as a U.S. Marine Corps training base. On May 25, 1961, Brigadier General Barnie B. McEntire, the first commander of the South Carolina Air National Guard and its first general officer, died when he rode his malfunctioning F-104 into the Susquehanna River to avoid crashing in a densely populated Harrisburg, PA. The base was later named McEntire in honor of him.

McEntire JNGB is home to both the 245th Air Traffic Control Squadron and the 169th Fighter Wing, an Air National Guard unit equipped with F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft. The 169th Fighter Wing flies the F-16 Fighting Falcon, a single-seat multi-purpose fighter with the capability to fly at up to twice the speed of sound. The mission of the 169th Fighter Wing is to provide world class combat capability to meet our nation's needs for contingency and general war requirements. This unit has both a combat mission, which involves providing air support and defense capabilities, and a support mission, which involves aiding in disaster response and relief efforts to South Carolina's homeland security and defense.

Additionally, McEntire JNGB has become home to the South Carolina Army National Guard which contributed to the integration and cooperation between different branches of the military, enhancing the overall capabilities of the armed forces.
